* I love weddings... a celebration of love, life, commitment, family, and friendship. What could be better?
They had a bar at the wedding. No alcohol was served, but there was absolutely everything else you could possibly imagine available. They even had a barrista - I had the most delicious iced, blended chai tea ever!! Yumm!!
* Summer. I absolutely love it!!! I wither a bit in the heat - don't we all? But overall, it's my favorite season. Except fall of course. :)
* Horses. I simply cannot live without them.
* Backyard pools are heaven-sent. Truly.
* My favorite summer sandwich is a BLT. I can go with or without the lettuce. But crispy, smoked bacon with big, fat, garden-fresh, juicy tomatoes with mayo on white or sourdough? To die for!!
* My favorite summer drinks have to be unsweetened iced tea or icy real lemonade. Color me happy!!
* Brightly painted toenails is a summer-time must. No doubt about it!!
* My best go-to summer outfit is without a doubt - bare face, bare legs, bare feet and a golden tan. Oh, and probably a pair of shorts and a cool, breezy top. For safety sake - when one rides a horse, add boots.
* The beach is my happy place.
* My dogs are my best friends.
* I love my honey and my honey loves me.
Jessie and my handsome hubby |
* Jesus loves me...
* I am very emotional. I used to blame hormones, but I can't keep using that old excuse.
* Fresh blackberry pie with vanilla ice cream is the world's best dessert. Bar none. Ok, except my momma's homemade apple pie with vanilla ice cream. I hope she can make me one in heaven someday.
* I cry very easily...(see previous comment)
* I love my family, but I don't always like my family. I have my doubts whether they love, or like me at all.
* Life just wouldn't be good without a dog. Or two. Two words - best friends.
* I am completely infatuated with linens of all kinds. But especially, bed linens...I'm a junkie and my name is Lorie.

Well, I care! I am on an unintentional blah-cation, where blogs are concerned. For some odd reason I just can't seem to get into writing a post, responding to, or even reading other blogs...no clue why. I'm having a good summer, and things are going great with Koda & life in general. Guess I just need to change it up for a while...
I see we have things in common, and our summer outfits match. I've never had Blackberry Pie, altho I've been plucking the berries most of my life. Messy little things that they are, but oh so sweet - most of the time. Nice photos Lorie, you look wonderful!!
Thank you Aurora. :) I take breaks from blogging too, but it's never intentional...dry spots, I guess. It's ok. I'm soooo happy to hear you're having a good summer and everything is A-ok with you!! I just made a pie a couple of days ago, pretty good. Wish you could pop over for a slice and a chat!
Oh I understand this post so well! You and I are a lot alike! I dont know how people do marriage without Jesus. He's our everything. I went to a wedding where they literally acknowledged EVERY faith out there in the ceremony "As they say in Buddism", "As Judaism teaches us", "Like the Christians believe"...it was VERY interesting and all over the place. Your friend looked beautiful and that bar sounds amazing!
Lorie, so many of these things sing to my heart as well.. my dogs, my horses, a loving husband, my family... blackberry pie!!!...
Here's the Staten Island Post you asked for :-)

And, don't be sad for someone who you percieve as missing out on something important because they are not religious. I hope this part of my comment doesn't offend you... but I am not religious. I do consider myself to be a spiritual person, and I get my guidance from the notion that I want to treat others as I would want to be treated. I am kind and generous and thoughtful of others and give of myself where I can. I am in awe of this great world of ours and admittedly I don't have the answer as to how we are all here, as we are, how this world was created. I do believe science makes sense (evolution) I also believe there is something tremendous to the human spirit and our existence at all is a miracle in itself. So, is there a Creator? A God? I don't know! And so I don't begrudge those who find deep comfort in their religion and worship a God. And all around the world there are different Gods, so who is to say exactly who the Creator may have been? Is one religion to be believed and all others invalid? I don't find the same comfort from trying to follow an organized religion that others do.. and I have seen much hypocracy. (I was raised Catholic) But I acknowledge that so many people benefit from the community that is their church and find comfort in the Creator that is their God, and this is a blessing for those people.
I choose to live my best life with respect and compassion for all life...and I hope down the road that will be enough. I feel that it is enough, and fulfilling.. to me.
Your friend looks radiantly happy, that's what counts on that day.
I have been slacking big time on my blog and keeping up with others as well.
Looks like a wonderful wedding and I love the photos!
Love the list! I hate to admit it, but I can be judgmental, too. That looked like a lovely wedding and, invited or not, I have a feeling God always shows up. Those are great photos of you!
Blessings,
Carolynn
