Inquiring Minds

Happy Friday to everyone!! I just love Fridays, don't you?? Well, truth be told, I love Saturdays and well, even Sundays even better - but hey - we're talkin' about workdays here and I gotta tell ya - I LOVE FRIDAYS!!! Not that I don't enjoy my job, because I do (usually anyway), but I love, love, love my free time to be at home working on one of our many, many projects, some small, some not so small or napping or reading or riding my horse or just lollygagging around the homeplace. The point here is this: I love doin' just whatever it is, I (emphasis on I here) want to be doin' at any given moment in time. You see, I've always been a little bit - oh, ok a lot stubborn and don't take too kindly to being told what to do - not one little bit...ever. So, I wanna do what I wanna do - even if I don't know what that is. So, there you have it - a dirty little secret about my personality. I'm just too stubborn for my own good.

So...moving right along to the point of today's post - "Inquiring Minds". I want to know what kinds of cameras you are all using out there. Are you mostly the point and shoot kind of gal or guy (no gender preference here folks - well, ok maybe some, but that's another topic for another day)...I digress, sorry...OR are you the fancy schmancy kind who favors those digital SLR cameras the professional photographers use - or hey, maybe you have an old 35mm that you just love. Whatever your preference - I'm interested in knowing what kind you favor and why - oh yes, the whys just might be the most important part in this here little experiment. So, come on, out with it, fess up!!! Just what in the heck is it that ya got?? Poor, poor grammar, yes I know! I apologize to my grammar teachers of yesteryear.

You see, there's a method to my madness here. I just started this blog thingy here yesterday and as you've probably noticed - it's a bit drab - no pictures or anything. But, I wanna change that! I need a camera to do that, and I need your help, your wonderful advice and your vast, worldly experience in this department!! Because I just NEED help and I'm not afraid to ask for it, ok? Please help me, pretty please...with warm, gooey chocolate on top? Ooh yum!! - now don't that sound good?

Bye y'all - I hope everybody out there has a fantastic and blessed weekend doing just exactly whatever it is, YOU want to do!!!

Okay Lorie,
Katie came and found your blog for me, I was struggling to find it. Got to have a kid help with all this techno stuff. anyhoo, love it already.

I have a cheap little digital I use. But a better quality one would result in far better photos I'm sure. Hey, you can use my kid to help show you the ropes!

Love you Miss Lorie,

Betty

Thanks Betty for your wonderful advice, as always. What would I ever do without you?? Don't want to go there...yes, send the kid over!! I need her - could definitely use her expertise with this here blog thingy! (sorry Katie, I know you are no longer a kid, but a very lovely young lady)
Please come...now!!

And, White Lilly, thanks very much for stopping by and saying hello. I checked out your blog and you make absolutely gorgeous furniture - too bad you're so far away - I'll bet the shipping charges would kill me or else I'd just have to get something!! Thanks for the camera info - the search continues. BTW, I have a sis named "Lilly".

If you want to know about cameras I have a Nikon cool pix. It is good picture and movie is ok. But like all digital it is slow to take the picture I get mad by the time the picture snaps I loose what I was wanting. So at tax time I used the $600 rebate this year and bought what I have been wanting for a while. A Sony dslr a 200, I love it. It is as fast on the pictures as my 35mm slr. And I can use my lenses from my Minolta 35mm. As Sony bought them. I have a canon rebel I am not impressed. But my friend loves here. I prefer vivid color. And cannon it not true color.
You have to deside what you want in a camers. Easy or quality. Fast or make do. You get what you pay for. I have taken a few cheap digitals back as crap.

Most of the pictures on my blog are taken by a Cannon Power Shot SD 900 Digital ELPH by my sister Marcy. Today's pictures were taken with An Olympus Stylus 1010 by me. The first is 10 pixels, the second is 10.1. Both are very clear, easy to use and small.

Hi,

I have a Canon Power Shot A560 and really like it alot.
It has 7.1 mega pixels and a4X optical zoom.
The only thing I would change is to have more zoom, so I can get in even closer for clearer shots.
But the camera is easy to use, quick to take photos, simple to download. Takes pretty good video and it was affordable: about $120 a year ago.

Good luck with your camera shopping :)

I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT. I LOVE IT. It takes wonderful photos of my children, animals, sporting events etc, BUT it is big. It doesn't have the delay that the smaller cameras all still have. It can take a picture every three seconds and the newer version is supposed to be faster. I only use it when I know I have my hands free enough to take care of it.

I also have a point and shoot. Sony cyber-shot. The pictures are good enough for keeping for memories, but not for printing great quality 8x10s.
