Friday Follies

Happy Friday to everybody in the Blogosphere!! Well, here goes nothing...believe it or not, I've been working on learning stuff all morning (I am just not a techno-type of gal), probably stuff that most all of you have known for eons already. I'm a little slow, ok?? This computer stuff is all greek to me...I find it all sooo confusing and intimidating. Give me a 1500# horse and I'll show ya some stuff - now that I know something about...but computers and bytes and downloads and data files....aaack!! I couldn't find my way out of a wet paper bag...or whatever that saying is. Anyway, I'm going to do it. I will attempt to "transfer files" from a CD to my computer's hard drive and then transfer those files again from the hardrive onto this here blog thingy which, as you probably already know is on the worldwide web - also known as the Blogosphere. Hot Dog!!!! I am ALLL THAT!!!! Even if I am the only person who says it. I thunk it, so therefore I AM - too cool! Ok, if ya'all out there are believers, and I sure do hope ya are - then now would be the time to send up some little ole prayers for yours truly...ready, now...go (deep breath)and...
Well, there they are - a random group of photos. But they are not where I wanted them and not the size I wanted them....so I guess it's back to the drawing board.
My head hurts now.

I hear you! I am stumbling though the same problems. I had several pictures ready for a slide show. I lost them. Somewhere out in space is floating my wonderful slide show that WAS going to be on my blog.
Maybe they will come back home.
Good Luck! Gail

I don't get have of it either! I try and some how it works out. I have a really computer savy sister that helpe me out when I don't get it. If you have windows then when you put the CD in it will ask what you want to do with them and it's all following directions from there!! Good luck and I hope it all works!!

hehehe! You are just so funny and cute!
You'll get the hang of it after a while. There definetly is a learning curve. It was a mighty sharp curve for me. lol!

Oh and by the way, you asked why we named our ranch the Laughing Orca...an especially good question knowing that we live in a land-locked state. lol!

Here is the blog post that started it all:

Welcome to our world!!!!
Thanks for your comments on my blog...are you a veterinarian? Just curious because of your listed occupation. I was a vet assisitant for 10 years, did two years of pre-vet and then switched to nursing...now I am back in school for social work/psychology! How is that for confused??? LOL!!!

I noticed that you posted below about cameras. I have a Kodak EasyShare C813, and I just love it! I had a more expensive EasyShare that finally broke(I hated it), but I think that it was defective from the start.

Good luck camera shopping! The most important feature to me is the zoom power, but that is only because I am always taking pictures from a distance.

Look ing forward to hearing more about you!

Thanks to Gail, Andrea and Trainwreck for the comments - I loved hearing from all of you guys!! This is so much fun! Lisa at Laughing Orca Ranch - that makes perfect sense to me, and I'll just bet that if you ever get a chance to meet a real live Orca, just ask politely and he'd let Jenna go for a ride. Love that name, Jenna - so pretty. And Melanie, thanks for your comment. No, I'm not a veterinarian - I'm just an assistant to an equine veterinarian who specializes in lameness diagnostics and treatment. We also do all the other vet stuff too, prevention medicine, repro and even treat a few other large animals once in a while. I've been here about 9 years now and most of the time, I like it a lot. You sound busy, girl! You've done a lot and they all sound very interesting to me. Especially the psychology stuff - most intriguing, the human mind. On days when I am on overload, can I call on you for emotional help!? hee hee, I sure do need help on somedays!

No "just a vet assistant" about it...you end up doing a lot of the work, I am sure!

Any luck with a camera yet?
