Hello again to bloggers and to spring

This is not one of my pictures, but I love lilacs and they always remind me of spring. They were my momma's most favorite flower.

Hello again. It has been a while since I've posted anything and I have been accused of being a "slacker blogger" by at least one of my fellow blogosphere pals. Well, I guess I have been. But it's nice to know that someone out there cares and has possibly even missed my ramblings and/or photos. So, thank you Miss Molly!!

I have been having some technical difficulties of late with my computer. But this morning, I thought they had passed. I have not been able to view many of my favorite blogs for the past week or so, and then occasionally I could view, but could not leave a comment. So, alas readers and friends, I am here...just experiencing some technical difficulties. I even had trouble logging on to my own blog today. I might possibly have a virus of some sort, but who knows.

Not a whole lot has been happening in my little world lately. Life has been steadily continuing on allbeit without much excitement. We have had a few more late winter snowfalls and some below freezing temperatures, but thankfully nothing is sticking around. Predictions for later this week are for more cold weather, but drier conditions. I'm always happy to hear that!

From my count on the calendar, spring begins in 10 more days, and visually it has already begun happening. I have daffodils blooming in my yard. My roses are shooting up and are steadily producing new leaves. My fruit trees are all budded out. I missed the dormant spraying and hope that my year old peach and cherry trees will not succumb to the dreaded curly leaf this year. I have no experience whatsoever in growing fruit trees, but this is my second attempt after having killed off my first trial plantings. So, if any of you readers have any experience in this department - I am always interested in hearing of your trials and errors, and would appreciate any advice you could lend in this department.

Another sure sign of spring is the annual shedding festival of the horses. Yep, it has begun in earnest. Siri especially. I can pull the hair out by the handfuls, and in a few minutes time have a ground cover of the most beautiful white - and I'm not talking about snow here. The horses are all quite itchy, and there are several spots out in the pasture where the ground is covered with their deposited hair after having had a good roll. I need to get out there in the barn and spend some quality time with my ponies grooming and helping them shed out their old winter coats. They would love it, and I probably would too. Maybe I'll try to fit that in tonight. It would do us all a world of good.

Wishing a fond farewell to winter real soon, and hoping the same for all of you.

May you all experience rebirth in a kinder and gentler season.

Blessings, cingspots.

Love your pictures. Lilacs are one of my favorites and yellow roses are my absolute fav's. Not much here either except mud and a few buds here and there. Shedding here too, everything is such a mess.

The house in Pennsylvania where I lived til I was 10 had a hedgerow of lilacs between our place and the neighbor's. I used to pick as many as my little arms could carry because I loved how they made the house smell. Too blame hot here for them.

Kacy, today's the first day in over a week that I've been able to look at your blog. I still can't comment though. Dadgum computers!!

Thanks everybody for your wonderful comments. I agree about the pics, but remember they're not mine. I found them at Flickr.

Greyhorse, me too...pale yellow roses are my favs too! At least one of my favs anyway...too many to have just one! I also love daphne, ooh the scent is intoxicating.

Those darn computer woes. I suffered them last year-repeatedly. They are a bummer.

The only sign of spring around here is one horse has decided to start shedding. One! What the heck is up with that? I guess the rest of them are smarter-since we still have snow on the ground and below zero temps. Is it really nearly the middle of March already? Sure don't look like it, or feel like it.

Yeah! Nice to hear of your good fortune with Spring looming nearby. And just nice you see you back. I love the colorful bird. He's the perfect colors.

I'm up in California where it is a bit cooler.

HAY NOW!!! Glad the blimmin computoer let you say hay to me today...
Am feeling some residual pain right now...just really tore my ankle up landing wrong tonight...glad it was not a horse accident..my new PBO don't have a contract for me yet..I rolled my eyes at them..I would never sue them!

I am sooooo happy where I am. I even got a cal from a very nice barn I was on the wait list for yesterday...had to say no. I KNOW without a doubt this is where God wishes me to be.
And GUESS WHAT??!! We are taking a Trianing certification at a local Christian Equine Academy!!! Lets see where God takes us with this!

I'm glad to see you back posting again, too.
I'm trying to play catch up. It seems I'm so far behind what with all my PT taking over my free time. But I'm not complaining. Each effort gets me closer to walking...hiking....and riding. :)

Mmmmm....I can almost smell those beautiful lilacs. I love their scent, too.

I know what you mean about the horse snow. I spent a bit of time up at the barn yesterday just grooming and getting some horse lovin'..and I was covered in it!

And then today it snowed for real. lol!

I have apple, peach and apricot trees and I don't do much beyond trims. The real problem here is that they will bloom too early, like now when we typically get some Springtime warmer weather.

But usually always have snow and ice storms into late May. So if they are in the middle of a bloom and that happens.....no fruit. wah!

I hope your fruit trees do well this year.
